This 24 hours course provides participants with tools to understand and drive wine business from an economic, administrative and financial viewpoint. Participants are also introduced to a range of legal issues that impact French wine business and the international wine trade.
The course is dedicated to enhance participants’ awareness and understanding of business cycles, cost management, financial analysis and forecasts faced by the non-public companies within the wine industry. The topics covered include an overview of the economic basis of financial analysis and corporate finance applied to wine business. International trade law and exporting and distribution arrangements will also been approached.
The course incorporates readings and case studies focused in financial matters. In addition, participants are encouraged to actively participate through class discussions and group presentations.
- Define French legal system and how it applies to regulate a wine business
- Describe legal issues that can rise in carrying on a wine business and legal duties and right that can arise
- Demonstrate an understanding of what capital budgeting implied in the wine business management
- Apply basic financial analysis and techniques to predict the corporate strategic lines.
- Appraise the cost of capital and working capital management.
- Appraise basics principles of specific topics of law and their relevance to a wine business
