Descriptif

This introductory course on international trade explores the fundamentals of economic exchange between countries. It covers classical theories of international trade, such as Ricardo's comparative advantage and the Heckscher-Ohlin model, as well as newer theories based on increasing returns to scale and product differentiation. The course also addresses trade policies (free trade vs. protectionism), the effects of tariff and non-tariff barriers, and issues related to globalization, international organizations, and regional trade agreements. Students will learn to analyze the impact of trade on growth, employment, and inequality.
