Description

This course is a cooperation between Mondragon University (Spain), EM Strasbourg Business School (France) and HAMK, Finland.

This week long course is a short term Intensive program that will take place physically in Finland (HAMK campus) and involves 5 days of on site sessions blended with one online class.

This experiential learning week focuses on transformation and regeneration and does so by taking introspective leadership for outward impact at its core. The opportunity lies in understanding ourselves as change agents, our connections to others and nature, and approaches to influencing contexts and relationships within systems.

Regenerative practices go beyond sustainability by seeking to restore, renew, and transform systems, be they ecological, social, or organizational, so they thrive and evolve.
From a leadership perspective, regeneration means moving from a mindset of merely minimizing harm to one that actively contributes to the well-being of people, communities, and the planet. Thus, we look at regenerative leadership as a call upon individuals to align their actions with the interconnectedness of natural and social systems, to nurture conditions for collective flourishing, and to embed cycles of learning, healing, and innovation within organizational culture.

Regenerative leaders are thus stewards, shifting focus from individual gain to the flourishing of the whole, cultivating environments where people and nature can co-create a more vibrant future. Accordingly, this week also provides an opportunity to discuss the social aspect of the sustainability framework, covering topics such as diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the workplace, community building, and partnerships.

We aim to create a transformative experience for participants where they will meet in multicultural settings and constellations, getting to know each other but also how stakeholders operate in a given context. During 5 on-side days on the HAMK campus in Finland, and an online session, students will have an opportunity to stop, observe, engage in active listening and observation so they can increase their awareness of the environment and others. We will explore notions such as complexity and system thinking, why to lead others, we first need to understand who we are and what drive us. Moreover, the course intentionally builds on ideas of well-being, with mindfulness and self-awareness as the backbone of transformation into a more sustainable life and the regeneration possibilities.
